ACHA Publication: Older people’s rehabilitation and recovery. Get up, stand up for geriatric rehabilitation

Effective care for older people living with frailty means that services have to be set up to identify people who have deteriorated in terms of their health and wellbeing, and then to be able to provide support for recovery and rehabilitation.  Despite this, older people are often unable to access the best evidenced care in many parts of the UK and around the world.
This article, co-authored by ACHA Professor Adam Gordon, introduces an Age and Ageing Collection outlining the state-of-the-art in rehabilitation of older people.  It’s a living collection and will be added to over time.
Rehabilitation is core to the research we do at ACHA.  This paper is also important because it’s one of the first outputs from our collaboration with researchers in care of older people at Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands.  You can read the paper in full here.
